Freddy:
When did you start making music?

Chris Lee:

I started writing songs when I was about 14. My music teacher always gave me bad grades, but I always thought he didn't know what the hell he was talking about. One year after I started making music, I was booked to play at the biggest music festival in Norway at the time. From that point on I knew for sure what I wanted to do with my life, and have been doing it ever since.

Freddy:

What's your inspiration right now?

Chris Lee:

So many things! Life in itself is always the main inspiration. The songs I make, that I tend to be the most happy with, sort of just jumps out of me. I'm very aware of the fact that you really have to live life to get inspired. I don't just sit in the sofa and expect something to happen. Live first, then write after. I also get inspired by the music of other artists as well.
Nowadays I listen a lot to Coldplay, Ryan Leslie and John Mayer. Especially Coldplay right now. Theyr last album just blew me away, and I know it will colour the music I create in some way in the future for sure.

Freddy:
Have you ever been to Germany?

Chris Lee:

Oh yes! Been there a couple of time already. Last time was a road trip with some friends of mine through Europe. I've been to Berlin, Hamburg and Kiel. We had a blast and the German people are really friendly and open. I took German classes at school to. Just look: Ich bin Chris Lee, Ich habe schöne Sonnenbrillen und Ich liebe Deutschland..That was without using google translator. Amazing!

Freddy:

Are you going to give a show in Germany?

Chris Lee:

If someone invites me to play I'm ready to get on the airplane tommorow. Would absolutely love to!

 

Freddy:

When will you release the CD with my ass on the cover? haha (insider)

Chris Lee:

Hopefully soon, because it will sell millions!! My ass on the cover is a whole different story.

Freddy:

The video "Monkey"! It's so funny. Did you have the same fun at making the video,like me, when I was watching it?

Chris Lee:

I ran around Oslo with that personal UFO diper around my wasteline for 10 hours. It was a little bit of fun, but mostly to other people who didn't know what the fuck we were doing. I ran through heavy traffic, getting yelled at by other cars and nearly got hit by the tram. But it was worth it, because I'm really happy with the outcome. If we lived in a country with a lot of monkeys there would have been monkeys all over it too, but we're not that fortunate.

Freddy:

What inspired you to make this video?

Chris Lee:

That crazy director Kristoffer Borgli. He's also done a Maria Mena video actually, and my manager also works with her, so that's what jump started the project. He always has pretty insane ideas, and I got no clue how he managed to remove my legs afterwerds. He is really inspired by the Back to the Future movies, and when he listened to the song he said the word retrofuturistic came to mind several times. And also, we can all agree on one thing: UFOs are really cool.

I'm looking forward to your next video. When is it coming out? I got no idea really. The single I just released has already made it pretty big on the charts here in Norway without any video. On the other hand making music videoes is a lot of fun, so I hope we'll have a new one really soon.

What have you planned right now for the future?

Chris Lee:

Right now I'm going to do a lot of concerts in Norway promoting my new Monkey EP. And to make more music is always the plan, so I do that all the time wherever I'm at in the world. I also plan on finding a way to go to Germany to do some concerts. I get a lot of emails on myspace from german people who say they like my songs, so I think it's just a question of time before it happens.

Freddy:

What is the most beatiful thing in Norway for you?

Chris Lee:

My family and friends first. Then of course the nature. Everytime I have some time off to appreciate it, it brings you so many impulses and inspiration.

He just released the new Monkey EP and that it's available on Itunes!

We have the song "monkey remix" at number ten in the charts over here now:-)
